Keeping up on AI while keeping sane

Published: July 13, 2024

This is a followup on my previous post about how AI is not taking your job anytime soon, I thought it would be good to share some other sources and voices that back up my claims. I share both specific articles / videos, along with blogs and channels that have well-balanced content. These are more approachable “pop-sci” sources since I think that’s the audience I’m trying to reach here. Lastly, I end with some fun experiments you can try yourself so that you can better understand some of LLMs shortcomings.

Your software engineering job is fine (seriously)

Published: June 25, 2024

I’ve had enough. Maybe this is controversial, maybe this is a “hot-take”, but let me get it out of my system:

  1. No, Large Language Models (LLMs) are not going to take our Software Engineering jobs.

Farewell, Yubico

Published: June 02, 2024

This is not exactly the first topic I thought I would write about on what I expect to be an otherwise technology focused blog. But here we are and it was a quick one to write. 😂

Hiccups. Those annoying little spasms of your diaphragm that, at least for some, are very difficult to get rid of. But not for me.

How exactly did I create this blog? In this post, I go over the process, the technologies used, and what’s still left for me to build.

Time to start blogging again

Published: November 11, 2023

Hello you. I have no idea who you are. Right now I’m not really sure who my intended audience will be. Most likely like-minded high-tech individuals like myself. Or maybe not? Time will tell. I’ve had several false starts at setting up a blog and an online presence. But this time it feels different. Practice over the years has made writing, especially technical writing, a little easier for me. It doesn’t mean I’m any good at it.
